From a young age, we have been told by parents to munch on dry fruits. From soaking almonds to grinding dry fruits to add them in milk, they have many health benefits like boosting immunity. A powerhouse of nutrients, add them to your meals and what’s better than turning it into a yummy delicacy?
Take a look at dishes you can make to savour your taste buds using dry fruits:
1. Kesar Pista Falooda
A simple and colorful Indian dessert drink that’s filling yet beautiful for the eyes. For this, soak sweet basil seeds in water, strain after 30 minutes and keep aside. To prepare falooda sev, use rice or what vermicelli, just boil them in water and set aside. Heat milk and add sugar with crushed pistachios and saffron strands. In a tall glass, add the basil seeds, ice cubes, kesar pista milk and vanilla ice cream. To top it, chop almonds and decorate the falooda glass.
2. Baked Almond Kofta
Deliciously filled with potato-almond mixture rolled in luscious milk and Indian spices, this is a perfect dinner dish that one can relish with parathas or rice. In a bowl, mash potatoes and add almonds, salt, pepper, nutmeg, milk, green onions and flour. Mix well and refrigerate for 15 minutes, roll into round small balls. Cover each kofta in flour and breadcrumbs. Bake them at 200c till they the almond koftas are golden brown, serve hot!
3. Anjeer Kebab
Finger licking good, anjeer kebab works well as a starter for any house occasion. To prepare this, mix hung curd along with grated paneer, ginger, green chilli, coriander, garam masala, elaichi powder, roasted jeera powder and salt, in a large bowl. Add roasted chana powder and bread crumbs to the mix to enhance the flavor. Make flat balls, stuff it with anjeer and fry it on medium flame. Serve it hot alongside mint chutney.
