India has crossed Russia in the global tally of total COVID-19 cases becoming the third nation to be worsley hit by the deadly virus. And as the cases are spiking everyday in different states of the country, Kerala has once again stepped up to contain it by imposing new guidelines in the capital city Thiruvananthapuram.
Starting from today, Thiruvananthapuram will undergo triple lockdown from 6AM which will last for a week.
The week-long stringent lockdown in the district is imposed after speculating the community spread of the Coronavirus. According to the new lockdown rules, no individual is allowed to venture out on the roads, however, medicine and essential shops will stay open to meet the necessity of people.
Public Transportation will also not be running from today and strict actions would be taken against those who roam out unnecessarily.
Apart from rudimentary restrictions on the movement and social gathering, Kerala University exams have also been called-off due to the COVID-19 and State Secretary, Government offices and Court will stay shut during the lockdown.
Declaring the triple lockdown in the Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, shared a post on Sunday night on his social media page by writing, “Triple lockdown in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. It will commence at 6M tomorrow morning & will remain in force for a week.”
