Disturbed sleep? Going through insomnia?
There are several ways with which you can battle with your disrupted sleep cycle and have a cozy nap but stretching before your bedtime is considered to be one of the most effective one which helps you enjoy your mornings too!
However, do not go for a heavier stretch routine and stick with the gentle one.
Here are some basic stretchings that you can try:
1. Bear Hug:
Give yourself an enormous bear hug and sleep well. Spread your arms and inhale deeply. Then exhale while crossing your arms and trying touching the opposite sides of your shoulder blade. Repeat it for 10 times and you will instantly feel relaxed.
2. Neck Stretch:
Get relief from the tension built up in your neck, back and shoulder by doing neck stretches which also improves your blood circulation in the upper body and helps you relax. With your right hand, touch your left earlobe and push your head towards your right shoulder. Hold this position and breathe in and out for five times, followed by gently going back in a straight position. Repeat the same process on the opposite side. You’ll be amazed to see how easily you fall asleep.
3. Child’s Pose:
Unleash your inner child and relax by practicing balasana. Sit on your knees and breathe in. Lean forward, resting your forehead on the surface below. Extend your arms in front and hold the position for five minutes. Then slowly go back to the straight sit-up position. Repeat it thrice and enjoy a relaxing and deep nap.
