Most of the cities have already started to experience the monsoon showers in full swing. While this season is such a respite from the heat, the monsoon season comes with its own set of problems like viral fever, cough, cold, stomach infections, dengue, and malaria.
Usually, with the onset of heavy reasons, your immune system tends to get affected . Whether it’s prevention, recovery, healing – all that matters is your immune system as it’s the first and last line of defense.
There are foods that can help you enhance your immune system through this season, but these don’t magically boost your immunity. They assist. Your immune system is a function of your overall lifestyle – right nutrition, quality and quantity of water, rest, recovery, sleep, emotional detox, and an active lifestyle to help circulate all the nutrients to all the trillions of cells in your body.
Turmeric Milk –
turmeric is a miracle herb that is rich in anti-inflammatory properties, turmeric improves your immune system and keeps infections at bay. Drink a glass of warm turmeric milk every night before hitting the bed to stay fit during the monsoon.
Herbal Tea with Honey –
Herbal tea, such as tulsi tea and ginger tea will keep you warm and safe from cold and flu while boosting your immunity. Add a few drops of honey – known for its antibacterial properties – to it instead of sugar.
Sprouts are good for your health in all seasons, particularly in the monsoon. Not only do protein-rich sprouts make for a healthy breakfast or snack and keep you full for a longer time.
Filling and packed with nutrients, soups are easy to digest and will keep your tummy happy. A bowl of chicken soup or vegetable corn soup garnished with black pepper, garlic and ginger keep you hydrated through the day.
Jamun, Plum –
Jamun has a sweet but slightly acidic flavor – juice made of Jamun also contains bioactive phytochemicals, which reduce the risk of liver diseases. On the other hand, tangy and sweet plums are filled with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.
