Twitter accounts of American high profile personalities like Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Jeff Bezos, Barack Obama and others were hacked in a Bitcoin scam.
This caught one’s attention when fake tweets about offering 2,000 dollars for every 1,000 dollars sent to a Bitcoin address from Bill Gates and Elon Musk’s accounts were spotted. The hackers and scammers deleted the fake tweets and shared it demanding the same.
Within no time, Twitter Support came into action, stalling the activity on the microblogging platform accounts. As the fake tweets went viral, netizens couldn’t stop themselves and called it ‘Money Heist’ while mocking Twitter’s security systems.
Calling this Twitter hack as a coordinated attack, the hackers requested donations in the cryptocurrency and targeted Twitter employees with access to internal systems and tools. Twitter immediately deleted the tweets and has temporarily blocked the verified accounts from posting anything till the investigation is done.
