Robin Behl is a fitness expert who excels in more than one or even five forms of physical fitness training. Apart from being one of the three founders of The Tribe India, a unique fitness destination that promises movement, energy and fun, Behl is a daredevil who was also a part of the 2016 Everest Base Camp. In addition to this, he was professionally trained at the Shaolin Temple in China, is a certified rescue diver and surfer, holds a white belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is also trained in Muay Thai from AKA Thailand.
“The turning point in my life came when I stumbled upon the Ido Portal Movement culture, a mixed technique that uses body weight and movements to develop strength, flexibility and agility”, says Behl. To build a good posture and essentially have a functional body that is fit and healthy to perform everyday tasks with ease and increased energy levels, it is best to incorporate functional training in one’s workout routines.
Behl recommends that one should consider taking a consultation from a fitness professional and this is the best way to approach fulfilling one’s fitness goals. Even with the addition of functional training to one’s regular workouts, it is advised to include other forms of workout like yoga, Pilates, playing a sport like squash, tennis, swimming etc. He adds, “Like any training, when the blood flows through the body, it affects everything. And we all know that when we workout, our body releases these happy hormones so, it obviously affects our mental health too, in a positive way.”
