Rafael Nadal is back on court after 200 days and with a bang, he returns to the ATP Tour in style!
Defending champion of the Italian Open, the world number two tennis player has grown in confidence after playing his first match and registering victory against fellow Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busto in 73 minutes, 6-1, 6-1 at the Foro Italico in Rome.
After opting out of US Open due to COVID-19, Nadal feels good to be back on tour, calling it a perfect start to the Italian Open, he is happy with his solid good shots on the forehand and backhand. All set to capture the 36 ATP Masters 1000 title this year, the 33-year-old will either face Milos Ranoic or Dusan Lajovic in the next round.
Missing the feeling of playing without spectators and that energy, Nadal’s back with a winning return after he played his last match in Acapulco at the end of February. Good to see him back on court doing what he’s best at!
