Ahead of Austria going into another lockdown due to the second wave of COVID-19, a terror attack was witnessed in Vienna at six different locations starting near the main synagogue of the city.
At around 8 PM in the night, gunmen opened fire in Central Vienna which left around 15 people injured while costing the lives of three. In the attack, one of the gunmen was shot dead by the Vienna police while the other one is still on the run.
Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi expressed his grief at the gruesome event and stated: “India stands with Austria during this tragic time. My thoughts are with the victims and their families.”

France which already is going through an internal disruption stood by Austria and French President Emmaneul Macron sent out a stern message to the aggressor group stating: “After France, it is a friendly country that is attacked. This is our Europe. Our enemies must know who they are dealing with. We will not give up anything.”

Pm Modi has also sent his condolences to the family of Violin maestro TN Krishnan who passed away at the age of 92. Also known as Professor Krishnan, the carnatic music violinist has received several accolades in his life including Sangita Kalanidhi of the Music Academy, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan.
On his demise PM shared a long note on his Twitter handle by writing, “The demise of noted violinist Shri TN Krishnan leaves a big void in the world of music. His works beautifully encapsulated a wide range of emotions and strands of our culture. He was also an outstanding mentor to young musicians. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”
