Our partners are the mirrors of our true self and by embracing yoga with them, you’ll not just lean on each other for support but also share our vulnerability with one another. Strengthening your connection through yoga will also reduce stress and give you a deeper sense of life.
Diving deeper, here are a few simple yoga poses you can try with your better half that’ll help you get close and connected within minutes.
1. Ustrasana
Opening our hearts to each other is the most raw way of showing vulnerability. Using each other for support assures that anything is possible when you have each other. For this pose, bend your knee and face each other as you interlace each other’s forearms. Take a deep breath in and on exhale, lean back to open your heart to the sky. Stay here for 5 full breaths, release and hug each other to respect the space you’ve created for each other and yourself.
2. Sukhasana
Deeply personal, this pose is easy where you sit facing your partner and gently gaze into each other’s eyes. Rest your hands on their knees or hands and allow them to do the same, connect you with the power of touch and you’ll truly see your partner. For 5 minutes hold it in and you’ll observe your partners features while taking deep breaths and feeling deeply compassionate towards them.
3. Paripurna Navasana
Getting support of your partner gives you that extra boost of confidence and energy. For this core-engaging posture, start in a seated position by facing one another but giving enough room to stretch. Extend your legs till each other’s feet soles are touching. Holding each other’s look, you’ll be able to communicate and reach for each other’s hands as resistance gives you an assurance.
