Starting the 2021 season of Formula1, McLaren had a big day ahead where the racing team competed in the first engine fire-up of the all-new Mercedes powered MCL35M.
The McLaren team was busy trying to adapt the new MCL35 chassis as well as the power units of gearbox bells while accommodating it into the team ahead of the new season. Bursting into life, this first engine fire-up is a landmark moment in the gestation of the new Mercedes car.
McLaren has opted for a change, shifted from MCL25 and now the Mercedes car will alter the way everything is packaged. From architecture, electrical harnessing and control boxes of the car to the cooling layout and pipework, be it fluid or air, it’s all changed for a smooth and fast racing for the drivers.
