Bollywood celebrities have been raising voices, literally against the ‘current’ on Twitter following a shocking rise in their power bills in Mumbai.
First to raise the voice against this issue was Taapsee Pannu. She was shocked to see an 835% rise in her electricity bill for the month of June. The actor shared pictures of the bill on Twitter where the May bill was Rs 3850 and for June, Rs 36000. Taapsee also received a bill of Rs 8,640 for a house that remains unused except for cleaning purposes against Rs 730 in May.
As soon as this tweet went viral, other filmy stars like Richa Chadha, Vir Das and Dino Morea also showed concerns about being over charged in their power bill on the microblogging platform. Replying to Vir Das’s tweet, Neha Dhupia also voiced against the unbelievable surge in their electricity bills during the lockdown.

Adding a pinch of comedy into this, Taapsee Pannu reposted a tweet from the electricity company’s page where a Mumbaikar is charged for power when they don’t have that company’s connection itself. Calling this as a fantasy relationship, here’s the tweet:
