World chess champion, Magnus Carlsen seized the game and won the Clutch Chess International in a dramatic virtual final match. With smart moves made across the board, he defeated Fabiano Caruana in a neck to neck game. Apart from that, Carlsen bagged 75,000 dollars for his efforts.
The format delivered what it had promised, two of the world’s best players scored back-to-back clutch wins to put an end to a highly exciting final match. Fabiano needed just a draw in the last encounter but Magnus Carlsen who obtained the last three pointer to take the title.
Apart from showing their magnificent chess skills, Fabiano Caruana and Magnus Carlsen displayed true sportsmanship and maturity. Rare sight but there were no consecutive wins in the whole match. But with the last move, Magnus Carlsen captured the match and the Clutch Chess International title.
