For his contribution to Indian cinema, Rajinikanth to be honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
The Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar announced this news on Twitter and its matter of pride for cinema lovers, have a look:

In the past, Rajinikanth has been honoured with the Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. Working for 50 years in the Tamil film industry, the superstar’s work and contribution as actor, producer and screenwriter has been iconic. He will be presented with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award on 3 May.
As soon as this happy news was out, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent out a congratulatory tweet where he stated that he is feeling “immense joy” that ‘Thalaiva’ is being conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Responding to the PM’s kind wishes, Rajinikanth thanked the government, PM Modi, Javadekar and the jury for the award.
