With the brand growing conscious of their product and services and consumers actively voicing for sustainability, the slow yet enormous shifts can be noticed in the world market, especially in the Automobile industry.
In the past few years, PHEV, HEV and EVs have become buzzworthy words. But as we know alteration in elementary infrastructure takes time, hence, the worries related to new-gen vehicles are worth a discussion. And to strengthen the EV culture, Google has stepped up.
As we are aware that finding a petrol pump is no difficult task but for EVs, finding a charging sport makes the buyers dubious about their plans. Hence, Google is rolling out three new features for the Google Map.
The humongous worry of any EV user is if the vehicle would support the long-route plan. Analysing this, Google Map will now be efficient to deliver the data you are looking for. Once you feed in the details of your route, using a routing algorithm, Google Map will calculate the estimated time of your travel along with showing you various charging points that will be there on your travel path. Moreover, it will also update you about which charging station is fast and will find a customised route for your vehicle.
The Map will also show you the preferred payment method available at the particular charging spot, so that you don’t end up clueless at any station. It will also give you the info about the stations where your preferred payment method is used, so that your journey stays hassle free.
These features are currently rolling for the EVs with inbuilt Google Maps and the company will soon be bringing it to a diverse range of vehicles.
For electric car drivers who know the feeling of range anxiety, we built new routing algorithms to take the guesswork out of trip planning and recharging. The feature is now plugged into EVs with Google Maps built-in. 🔌
