Yesterday only it was when I thought to write this article. Today I sat on my chair, turned on my computer, laid back and….I forgot what I had to write! This isn’t the first time I forgot something, there are many other things which I usually forget to do. And I am sure, this is not just my problem! It happens with you too, right? Some takes it casually, some goes to psychiatrist thinking it’s something serious mental issue while some gets irritated of facing such things.
But have you ever thought of finding a solution to this? Or thought of finding a solution but actually never found it? Oh, you need not to worry. Because I have come up with some great tips for making things stick in your brain.
1. Get proper sleep
This is exactly what you need at first. Your mind needs to rest to stay sharp. Sleep is always known to enhance your memory. You sleep at night so that your mind could function properly, the next day. Not taking proper sleep may lead to weakness, tiredness and memory problems.
So Sleep Tight!
2. Meditate
Meditation has been proven as the best alternative for good mental health. Not only it helps just in anxiety issues but also calms your mind. During meditation, your mind stops processing information and relaxes the mind.
This is the one, you just can’t miss!
3. Chew Gum to make stronger memories
Ever heard that mantra in school times, that chewing gum while studying or learning your answers as it helps to recall memories, or ever read anywhere? You would have! Chewing gum increases activity in the hippocampus, an important area of the brain for memory.
Give this a shot!
4. Exercise
A healthy body provides for a healthy mind. Exercise is one of the effective methods for everything, whether you are having pain in your body, or want to lose weight, or want to be mentally and physically fit. It is actually beneficial for the brain and helps improve memory in all ages, from children to older adults.
It literally does everything!
5. Play mind games
How do you even know your brain works? Have you ever tested your brain? No, then go for it. There are many brain games like remembering the names of people you met in a party, or some mathematical equations to solve, or riddles, puzzles. Also, you will find many brain games in your Android or iPhone itself, just install them and boost your memory.
It’s time to put your brain into a test!
6. Avoid multitasking
Multitasking is a big No specially if you are working on your memories. Multitasking will split your attention into different activities which may lead to lose some information from each.
The more you switch, the more you lose!
