The world is suffering from the worst hit of COVID but slowly countries are getting back on their feet after going through the lockdowns in order to cope up with the financial dips.
With no cure yet found, the growing number of COVID is a panic situation and the World Health Organization Director General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has expressed his concern about the spread of the disease and urged the world to practice safety measures.
In his recent press briefing, Dr Tedros stated, “Eight months into the pandemic and we understand that people are tired and yearn to get on with their lives. At the same time, no country can just pretend the pandemic is over.” and went on giving four basic guidelines to be followed by the nations, communities and individuals to take control over the spreading disease.
The four points dictated by the WHO Director General mainly focus on prevention and control of spread where he asked the world to stay afar from social gathering, control death by protecting the vulnerable population, individual awareness and government’s active participation in testing, quarantining and contact tracing of its public.
Dr Tedros also asked the world to show global solidarity and national unity as the virus thrives if the world is divided.
We are 8 months into the #COVID19 pandemic & we understand that people are tired & yearn to get on with their lives, but no country can just pretend the pandemic is over. This virus spreads easily, & we all must remain serious about suppressing its transmission & saving lives. pic.twitter.com/1d2jR5FfvE
