2020 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) were held despite the pandemic, with some of the biggest names in music performed as well as took awards home!
Lady Gaga was the star of night, leading nominations and awards in the VMAs, and won ‘Artist of The Year’. Her other song, ‘Rain on Me’ with Ariana Grande was awarded as the ‘Song of the Year’, ‘Best Cinematography’ and ‘Best Collaboration’.
Taylor Swift sent in a video message for her acceptance speech on winning the ‘Best Direction Award’ for her own song, ‘The Man’. Also, Korean boy band BTS won big at VMA for their song ‘On’, named as the ‘Best Pop’, ‘Best K-Pop’, ‘Best Group’ and ‘Best Choreography’.
The Weeknd stole the stage by performing his chartbusting single ‘Blinding Lights’, winning ‘Video of the Year’ and ‘Best R&B’ at the VMAs. ‘Mother’s Daughter’ by Miley Cyrus also gained recognition at the awards night with ‘Best Art Direction’ and ‘Best Editing’
