To prevent the spread of coronavirus, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has joined the #SafeHands Challenge initiative by the World Health Organisation (WHO). On being nominated by the Director of WHO Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Deepika agreed to the challenge where one shares an instructional video to show their hand washing technique.
Apart from Deepika Padukone, UNICEF ambassador Priyanka Chopra and Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger were also nominated for the challenge. While posting her challenge video, Deepika has nominated tennis player Roger Federer, football star Cristiano Ronaldo and Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli to take up the #SafeHands Challenge.
In the video shared by Deepika on Twitter, one can see her wearing an N95 mask as a preventive measure against COVID-19. With a song playing in the background, she shows how to wash hands. She also wrote, “#COVID19 surely is an uphill health and public safety task, but all of us are in this fight together!”
