On Twitter, Novak Djokovic has confirmed that he will be a part of the Grand Slam tournament, US Open. Calling it not an easy decision, he has gone through all the challenges that might come on the way, but he’s really excited and pumped to compete once again.
The US Open is scheduled to begin from 31 August without spectators. Before that, the Western and Southern Open, normally held in Cincinnati, will be played at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, starting 22 August.
In the Big Three, only world number one Djokovic will participate in the US Open. Roger Federer is sidelined for rest after having two operations on his right knee. While Rafael Nadal has pulled out of the Grand Slam because of concerns about traveling amid the pandemic.
By playing this year at the US Open, Novak Djokovic has the chance to narrow the gap between him and the only two men with more major trophies, Federer and Nadal. We can’t wait to watch him back in action on the court!
I’m happy to confirm that I‘ll participate at #CincyTennis and #USOpen this year. It was not an easy decision to make with all the obstacles and challenges on many sides, but the prospect of competing again makes me really excited 😃💪🏼 https://t.co/qgxSTHrKK4 pic.twitter.com/tg6rgwfFqm
