Focus Features and Participants production ‘Dark Water’ trailer was dropped recently and we can see Mark Ruffalo and Anne Hathaway perfectly sharing the screen space as a couple.
The movie revolves around a Corporate Defense Attorney whose life takes a turn when he tries to help a family friend. An attorney working for the chemical company ends up filling a lawsuit against the most renowned chemical industry, DuPont, risking his life, career, and family. In the search for justice, Mark finds some heinous secrets of a company which was knowingly poisoning 70,000 local residents for over four years.
A film based on true stories of Rob Bilott, who fought against DuPont Chemical Company of West Virginia, for illegally dumping toxic C8 into the source of drinking water which comes into the notice when 190 cows of a local farmer die.
A brilliant execution by Todd Haynes, shows a man’s journey in the fight for the environment and public life and how the government is merely a puppet in the hands of corporates.
The extraordinary story inspired by the New York Times article ‘The Lawyer Who Became DuPont’s Worst Nightmare’, will hit the theatres on 22 November and speculations for an Oscar are already high for the movie.
