Canada is slowly opening the country and easing the restrictions with many new guidelines to ensure the safety of people along with a gradual and phased restart of economic activities to boost the nation’s financial condition.
Since the spread of COVID-19 is not fading away, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced the launch of a new nationwide app to provide notifications of exposure to COVID-19 across Canada, with beta testing to begin in Ontario, which will allow the local citizens and public health officers to identify and contain the spread of virus.
The new COVID-19 fighting app is currently under development by Canadian Digital Service in collaboration with the Ontario Digital Service and building upon technology developed by Shopify volunteers, which will further undergo a security review by Blackberry.
The use of this new app will be completely optional and free for all the Canadians. You can update your status through the app and it will show you the guidelines to be followed to keep others and yourself safe.
This is another important step toward containing the virus and safely restarting the economy. For more information on how the app works and what we’re doing to protect your privacy, click here: https://t.co/fsKUJbJThv
