Let’s celebrate!
Indian films have raced through, making an entry into the 24th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).
Scheduled to commence from 3 October to 12 October this year, the prestigious film festival is already in the limelight. A number of films from 85 countries will premier in Busan, South Korea, including small and big budget movies.
Feel proud of our cinema, especially after looking at the movies to be premiered at BIFF’19:
1. Dolly Kitty Aur Who Chamakte Sitare
Bhumi Pednekar and Konkona Sensharma starrer movie couldn’t ask for a better world premiere. Directed and written by the ‘Lipstick under my Burkha’ helmer, Alankrita Shrivastava, the team is ready to roll at the film festival in October.
A women-centric movie with the tagline ‘Join the REBELution’, it looks lit for all the right reasons. The release date for the movie has not been announced yet.

2. Aadhaar
The National Award winning filmmaker Suman Ghosh is all set to make his debut in Hindi cinema as a director.
And now they have another reason to cheer for!
His social satire will be screened in the ‘A Window on Asian Cinema’ on 6 October, making its world premiere at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival. The movie features Viineet Kumar Singh along with veteran actors Raghubir Yadav, Saurabh Shukla and Sanjay Mishra.
‘Aadhaar’ is based on the story of a common man from Jharkhand, who gets caught in a circle of bureaucratic events while enrolling his name in the Aadhar card scheme.
3. Raahgir
Actor Adil Hussain’s ‘Raahgir’ is all set to be screened at the BIFF’19, under ‘A Window on Asian Cinema’ on 7 October. Directed by the National Award winner Gautam Ghose, the movie also stars Neeraj Kabi and Tillotama Shome.
The film is based on a short story by Bengali author Prafulla Roy, telling a tale of human empathy in the time of crisis. The story revolves around three strangers who meet on a journey while searching for a livelihood and form a bond.
