In this generation, we put others thoughts and feelings before ours and prioritise them instead of thinking about ourselves. One gets so involved in loving the other that the self-love becomes blur and lost. You start doubting yourself and your feelings too.
Till we don’t love ourselves and accept our flaws, we will never find happiness and we won’t be able to give our 100% love to a fellow human. Self-love should be your priority. 2020 has begun, make this the first thing in your resolutions list.
Go on dates with yourself, start a passion, volunteer, travel alone. Just spend time with yourself, you’ll be surprised to learn new things about yourself. You’ll love your own company!
Here, a few things one can you to embrace self-love :
1. Spend Time in Nature:
Go on a walk alone or take up a trek while being around nature. Till you don’t try this, you won’t know how powerful it is to be alone while being surrounded by nature. This is the best time to prioritise your thoughts and discover yourself while enjoying the little things as you pass by, like photography, chirping of birds or maybe a cool breeze blowing on your face.
2. Buy Yourself Fresh Flowers and Coffee/Tea:
Going on dates with yourself is the best therapy. On the lowest points or happiest days, make time for yourself and go all-out by surprising yourself with your favourite lilies or daisies. A hot cup of chai or coffee while sitting on your balcony, enjoying a read or just staring out in the open sky is the most calming experience. You will love your own company, for sure!
3. Go for Manicure:
Self-love starts with self-care too. Get your lazy-self up and visit the saloon. Take that manicure you have always had second thoughts about. Enjoy the massage and doze to a soundless sleep, if you want to. Pamper yourself at regular intervals to fall more in love with your inner self!
4. Meditate to Relax:
A peaceful mind will not let negative thoughts get to you or allow you to overthink unnecessarily. Every morning, with the sun’s first ray, mediate. If not for a longer time, atleast find ten minutes from your busy hustle to sit down and meditate. Close your eyes and play soothing music while meditating to create a calm atmosphere around you. Really helps!
