Most aspiring musicians pick up the ‘too mainstream’ instruments like piano or guitar. Now, it’s time to discover the weird and wonderful world of music. So, here is a list of weird music instruments ever created, some you probably never heard or seen before.

1. Vegetable Orchestra
Sounds funny but this is one of a kind where musicians seriously create music and perform on instruments made of fresh vegetables. From bass drum pumpkins to carrot flutes, they play a wide range of music. This creates a musically and aesthetically unique sound universe. Guess what? They use these veggies to make soup for their audience after the performance.
2. Hydrolauphone
As the name suggests, it is a tonal acoustic musical instrument and produces sound using water. A sensory experience as music is played by covering different water jets to produce different pitches.
3. Theremin
Weird name and weird to play too!
It is used in classical music, requires no touch to be played, instead you can produce sound by moving their hands in proximity to two antennas.
4. Great Stalacpipe Organ
One of the strangest instruments, it is operated by a console that produces the tapping of stalactites of varying sizes with rubber mallets in order to get the right tones.
5. Glass Harmonica
Play it the same way as playing wine glasses, just turn it on its side. Use a series of glass bowls or goblets, different sizes, rotate and touch the bowls with wet fingers to create the desired notes. One can play multiple notes at once creating ear soothing sounds.
