2020 began on a good note for Serena Williams.
On defeating fellow American Jessica Pegula, 6-3, 6-4, Serena won the Auckland Classic in New Zealand. This is her first big win after becoming a mother in 2017.

Serena lifted the trophy and donated her prize money for the Australian bushfire relief. The 38 year-old was thrilled when she realized that Pegula hit the ball wide on match point. one could see the happiness and relief on her face as she broke her loss streak.
The ace tennis player made her comeback in 2018 and since then, she was having a hard time at the court but still Serena reached the finals of Wimbledon and the US Open. A winner of 23 Grand Slam singles titles, Williams will now prepare and head for the Australian Open that begins on 20 January.
