The second edition of Sportstar ACES awards was held on Monday evening felicitating the athletes of India for their outstanding performances and making the nation proud.
With Odisha winning the Jury Choice Award for the ‘Best State for the Promotion of Sports’, legendary tennis player Leander Paes got the ‘Special Recognition Awards’ for being one of the most iconic doubles players winning 18 Grand Slam titles.

As the evening grew, the special awards were announced and former cricketer Kapil Dev was presented with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’. Kapil Dev’s contribution to the cricket world is impeccable. From introducing the world to ‘Natraj’ pose to bring India its maiden World Cup in the year 1983, Kapil has been regarded as one of the finest players in cricket history.

Meanwhile, the 2019 sensation PV Sindhu who set the world on fire by winning the World Championship title was conferred with the ‘Best Sportswoman of the Year’. Along with it the ace shuttler also became the ‘Sportstar of the Year’.
