The world is shocked as Dustin Poirier knocked out Conor McGregor in the second round of UFC 257. For the first time in UFC history, McGregor has lost a match by a technical knockout.
After a 365 days break, all eyes were firmly stuck on Conor McGregor who returned to the octagon in Abu Dhabi. Going up against Dustin Poirier, he took the best shots, soaked up the pressure and then turned the heat to knock out McGregor.
Dustin Poirier surprised McGregor with his wrestling as he successfully landed a takedown on him. Poirier also landed constant calf-kicks on the Irishman and by the second round, one could see a limp in McGregor’s movement in the ring. Slowly, Poirier changed the tempo and narrative of the fight by landing punches at McGregor.
Halfway through the UFC 257 match, Poirier upped the fire in the octagon and landed a barrage of shots on McGregor. A right-hand hook was the final shot that knocked down Conor, in a span of a few seconds, the referee stopped the UFC 257fight.
