Amazon with it’s ever-growing customer base is expanding its fleet to provide better service.
As more and more people are embracing digitalization and turning to online shoppings, the delivery service needs to be hastened and to fulfill this need the company has brought its first ever Boeing 767-300 aircrafts.
The 11 aircrafts will join the network by 2022 and the Vice President of Amazon Global Air, Sarah Rhoads on this new development stated: “Our goal is to continue delivering for customers across the U.S. in the way that they expect from Amazon, and purchasing our own aircraft is a natural next step toward that goal”, emphasizing on the better customer support that the company would be able to provide with the new purchase.
The Amazon Air was launched in 2016 and since then the company has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in creating new jobs. Sticking to the company’s Climate Pledge, Amazon Air also made its purchase of six million gallons of sustainable aviation fuel in 2020 while investing in electric ground service equipment and solar rooftop panels.
