West Indies has become the first international team to travel abroad after the coronavirus pandemic halted all sports around the world.
Led by Jason Holder, the Caribbean team was tested for COVID-19 and on being negative, they boarded the aircraft from Antigua for the three match Test series in England starting from July 8. This is the stepping stone that will also mark the return of international cricket.
On arrival at Old Trafford in Manchester, the entire Indies team will be quarantined and tested again for COVID-19 as they begin the seven week tour in a bio-secure environment to ensure the safety of the players and staff.
No spectators will be allowed in the cricket ground, the test series will be played behind closed doors. This is a huge step forward in cricket as the teams will prepare more for precautions and enter a new phase in the game.
