One of the most notable actors of Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi Cinema, Chiranjeevi turns 64 today. In a career spanning over four decades starting from 1978 with the movie ‘Punadhirallu’ to becoming a Demigod of masses, his journey in the film industry is impeccable and an inspiration to many. The stalwart who is fondly known as Chiru, Boss and Annayya among his admirers, took about 60 movies to establish himself as the ‘Megastar’. Emerging as the ‘Man of Masses’ with the highest success rate at the box office, Chiranjeevi is a ten times winner of Filmfare Award South.

~ Swayam Krushi:
A 1987 film about an illiterate cobbler, which was dubbed into Russian and was screened at the Moscow International Film Festival, won the hearts of millions. He also won the ‘State Nandi Award’ for the Best Actor for his performance in the film.
~ Gharana Mogudu:
The comedy film ‘Gharana Mogudu’, directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, is the first Telugu film to gross over INR 10 crore at the box office.
~ Rudraveena:
Chiranjeevi co-produced and acted in ‘Rudraveena’. The movie shows the struggle of a great musician whose work was not appreciated by his own father. The film not only won the ‘Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration’ presented by the Directorate of Film Festivals, an organisation set up by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India, but also the ‘Nandi Special Jury Award’.
~ Khaidi no 150:
His ‘Khaidi No 150’ released in 2017, after a gap of ten years and went on to become a mega hit, sealing his status as an eternal star of Telugu filmdom.
Other than creating a huge fan base through his acting career, Megastar was also given the ‘Samman Award’ for the ‘Highest Income Taxpayer’ for the fiscal year 1999-2000 by the Minister of State for Finance.
