Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, postponement of events have become a common news.
While most of the sports events have already been scheduled for the next year or for the end of this year, the renowned annual cycling race Tour de France is also suffering the postponement.
The three week long event was originally scheduled to start off by 27 June.
Post the French President Emmaneul Macron’s address where he banned all the large scale events, the organizers of Tour de France in association with Union Cycliste Internationale decided to postpone the cycling event to 29 August to 20 September 2020 while keeping the route same from Nice to Paris.
Le Tour de France will take place on the planned route, with no changes, from Nice to Paris, from Saturday 29th August to Sunday 20th September.

Apart from this, La Course, the women’s cycling event which was supposed to take place in Champs Elysees has also been postponed along with the 30 edition of Etape du Tour cyclosportive. The new dates for these elite events are yet to be decided.
