Google Maps has introduced cool new biking features after seeing a huge leap and requests for cycling directions during the global pandemic, for people to move around safely. Now, people are opting to hop on their cycles and Google Maps will help them in end-to-end directions and uncover the most reliable route including docked bikeshare in 10 cities, globally.
The new biking features will also include detailed walking directions to bikeshare stations near your starting point, live bike availability and cycling directions to the bikeshare station closer to you with live dock availability. Finally, Google Maps will also notify you with walking directions to your destination and show you links to relevant bikeshare apps to unlock a cycle.
Thanks to the partnership with ITO World, Google Maps will introduce the latest biking features first in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Washington, London, Mexico City, Montreal, Sao Paulo and Taipei.
