Lights, camera, action is ready to come back on the silver screen!
In several parts of India, cinema halls and movie theatres are all set to reopen today, including Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
Part of Unlock 5.0, multiplexes will open after being shadowed down for seven months due to coronavirus, allowing the operations to resume as per guidelines issued by the government. Some of them are 50% occupancy, staggered show timings, social distancing, thermal screening, protection gear for the staff and mandatory to provide phone numbers for contact tracing.
For food and beverage at movie theatres, all bites will be sterilized under UV rays for eight minutes before being handed over to the customer. Popcorn containers will completely be covered with paper lids. Despite the extra arrangements, the prices of tickets and food will remain unchanged.
Floor and seat markers for social distancing is one of the changes and most theatres will be open only between 12 pm to 8 pm. However, there are no new releases in theatres this week. Several old films will be re-released like ‘Chhichhore’, ‘Kedarnath’, ‘Tanhaji’, ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’, ‘Malang’, ‘War’ and ‘Thappad’, among others.
