For the successful achievement of criticality of the Kakrapar Atomic Power Plant, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Indian nuclear scientists on Twitter.
Calling it a trailblazer for future achievements and a shining example of Make in India, the Kakrapar power station is situated in Gujarat. This atomic power plant has designed a 700 MWe KAPP-3 reactor, setting an example for the world.
Equipped with improved safety features and steam generators, the achieved criticality means that the reactor has reached the normal operating condition and now, the Kakrapar Atomic Power Plant is set to generate power.
