In an effort to drop light on the present socio-political circumstances, Qyuki creator, UnErase Poetry’s latest association with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, which also features Ramneek Singh and Hasan Baldiwala along with has created much chaos across speckled fiscal strata in our country, through the power of simple words.
‘Mere Kavi Dost’ underlines the risks to the freedom of speech in our country. It urges all the poets to look for equality once again and be free of the restraints in a book and inspire one and all with its influential words. Indeed, the poem has given us goosebumps for the absolute honesty of its writing and the impact of its powerful words.
The poem starts off by discussing the need to set free poetry in its truest form. How it’s tired of penning feelings on love and relationships as the country stands separated from its core values today. It discusses how ethics has been replaced by low tricks.
It further explains the idea of a poor farmer comparing his lessening situation to that of a builder on the rise. The poem veers toward other topics of religion and politics and goes on to divide how the rich leaders continue their fake promises of development every single year; how our country is going to the dogs as those seeking to bring about a change are censored and forced to not do so.
