For the world’s most talked about pop star, bigger is better. Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, aka Lady Gaga, has a mansion in the Zuma Beach neighbourhood of Malibu, California. The beachfront estate sits on an expansive six acres with stunning views and over 10,000 square feet of living space.
A gravel driveway leads up to the 10,000 square foot mansion, which is reminiscent of a Mediterranean villa, complete with mountain and ocean views. There can’t be a better place and a perfect beach treat to unwind away from the public eye. Designed by architect Steve Giannetti and built by Finton Construction with imported materials from Europe, the home is finest for Gaga and fit for Mother Monster herself.
The five-time Grammy Awards and 13 MTV Video Music Awards winner’s home features a massive 800-bottle wine cellar, home theatre, saltwater swimming pool and a subterranean ‘bat cave’ that is a tricked-out recreational space with a 1960s-style bowling alley and basketball free-throw machines. With five bedrooms, twelve bathrooms, a glass breezeway, gym and an outdoor bocce ball court, the interiors feature open-plan living and dining spaces, hardwood floors, game room, a gym with elevator, high ceilings, exposed beams and French doors. Outside, there’s a saltwater pool, Jacuzzi, eight-horse stable, a guest house and a bocce ball court.
A lot has been changed about the house by the 32-year-old pop-star and that was revealed when Vogue got to visit the eccentric mansion for their cover story.
The animal lover has her own horse named Arabella and also has two dogs called Grandpa and Ronnie. Undoubtedly Gaga has a room full of clothes, which includes a custom cape from Alexander McQueen, Gianni Versace designs from the 90s, and a separate chamber for leather and feathers and sequins. ‘I like pink, It’s a relaxing colour,’ says the star who has a pink blob sofa and enormous pink rug.
‘This is my sanctuary, my oasis of peace. I call it my ‘gypsy palace,’’ says Gaga referring to her garden full of roses, a sloping lawn, and a Pacific Ocean view.
Lady Gaga’s inspiration, the late rock star, David Bowie’s framed letter that simply and inexplicably reads: ‘Dear Lady, Unfortunately, I will not be in NYC for a few months but many thanks for the cake,’ is placed on her mantel.
She is also a great fan of artist George Condo, whose painting is hanging on the wall of a woman in a ball gown, she faced smudged. ‘Reminds me of myself, beautiful but a little bit messy’, says the star.
