Amid fears of community spread of COVID-19, Karnataka is all set to conduct rescheduled Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) board exams for class 10 students across the state.
Starting today, the board exams will be held till 4 July and 8.5 lakh students will be appearing for the SSLC exams. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the safety of students and school staff. Every center has followed the lockdown guidelines and precautions written down by the government to ensure welfare of the wards.
Although the exam is for three hours and starts at 10:30am, students need to report to schools 90 minutes prior for thermal screening, wearing masks and hand hygiene before entering the examination center.
Students will be given additional masks along with their hall tickets and a distance of two meters will be ensured between benches to maintain social distancing. They will also be equipped with hand sanitizers.
Good news for students who have gone back home, the government has permitted them to write the SSLC exams from the nearest center. Wishing good luck to the students, Chief Minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa tweeted about the same:
