The Indian ace shuttlers are performing exceedingly well in the ongoing Barcelona Spain Masters with the hope of grabbing a spot in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics and winning the prize money of $ 170,000.
The Indian Olympic bronze medalist, Saina Nehwal though had a rough start of the year, the athlete has paced to the second round of Women’s single by winning over Germany’s Yvonne Li in just 35 minutes and will be next seen fighting against Maria Ulitina.
Apart from Saina, the mixed doubles team of Pranaav Jerry Chopra and Sikki N Reddy also defeated their rivals Mathias Christiansen and Alexandran Boje of Denmark, proceeding into the next round
For the Round two of the Spain Masters, four Indian athletes will be playing in the single’s match while two pairs of Indian athletes will participate in the doubles round of the tournament.
