The ongoing India China Conflict has taken another turn with Indian Government banning all the Chinese applications.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcast, released a statement where the Government of India disclosed its plan of blocking 59 Chinese applications which are considered to be harmful to the nation’s integrity and defence system.
In the past few years, India has become the biggest market for the sale of technological products and as more and more public started getting connected through the internet, many mobile apps became our daily necessity. From providing easy access in connecting with people to reaching hundreds of citizens through a user-friendly social media platform like Tik Tok, the Chinese market expanded by manifold in India.
Now to counter the threat possessed by these apps in the ongoing security breaches, Indian Government implementing its power reserved under the section 69A of the Informational Technology Act took a bold step to block the apps which were speculated to be stealing and selling the data of its users, questioning the safety of the entire nation. In drawing this conclusion, Indian Government relied on the findings of Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center and other credible sources which raised the concern regarding the use of these apps.
