Do you ever randomly start humming a song after it pops in your head but get frustrated when you can’t remember the name of a song or any of the words?
Well, Google has announced that it will help you figure it out with no lyrics, artist name or perfect pitch required!
Just open the latest version of the Google app, tap the mic icon and click on ‘search the song’ button. Using Google Assistant, just say, “Hey Google, what’s this song?” and then hum the tune. Google’s machine learning algorithm will identify the potential song matches and show you the most likely options based on the tune.
This feature of “hum to search” is available in more than 20 languages on Android. Select the best match and explore information on the song and artist, view any accompanying music videos or listen to the song on your favorite music app and find the lyrics.
So next time, when you can’t remember the name of some catchy song you heard on the radio, just start humming. You’ll have your answer in no time!
