What’s new on Google Maps?
We cannot thank Google Maps enough. From accurately updating us about the traffic to giving us the information about the public transportation, this app has become an integral part of our digital life.
And as we are progressing further, Google is abiding by its commitment for a greener world. The Californian company is building a new routing model that will recommend to you the route that has lower fuel consumption based on various factors including road incline and traffic congestion.
Moreover, the Maps will, by default, suggest the route with the lowest carbon footprint when it has approximately the same ETA as the fastest route. And if the eco-friendly route increases your ETA, Google will leave it on you to compare and decide. The new eco-friendly development will be launched for both Android and iOS in the US later this year with the company rolling it out soon globally.
From eco-friendly routes to showing weather and air quality layers, @GoogleMaps has an exciting road ahead.
