Owing to the COVID-19, the FIFA Awards 2020 went virtual this year and thoroughly entertained the Football fans.
As the ceremony concluded, the Best FIFA Men’s Player was announced, and surpassing the two great names of the soccer arena; Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Polish player Robert Lewandowski who plays for Bayern Munich grabbed the award.

Upon receiving the grand accolade, Robert also stated: “This really is something – Messi and Ronaldo have been playing at the highest level for years and now I’m rubbing shoulders with them.” and expressed his gratitude to his supporters.

Meanwhile, English athlete Lucy Bronze became the Best FIFA Women’s Player and the official social media page of the FIFA Women’s World Cup celebrated it by writing, “Bronze turns to gold!”

Lucy also took to her official social media account to acknowledge the award and called it an honour to compete with Pernille Harder and Wendie Renard. Putting an optimistic view on the predicaments of this year, the English athlete also stated: “A year like this has made us all appreciate everything so much more. So to finish 2020 with this award is an honour!”
