AC Milan’s Rafael Leo scored the fastest ever goal in the history of Serie A. In just 6 seconds of the game against Sassuolo, the forward player netted the goal.
With this goal and another one scored by midfielder Alexis Saelemaekers in the 26 minute, led AC Milan to win the match 2-1 against Sassuolo. Previously, the fastest goal in the Italian top flight was by Paolo Poggi’s from the club, Piacenza who scored it against Fiorentina in December 2001 after eight seconds of play.
The 21 year-old Portuguese forward took his teammate, Hakan Calhanoglu’s pass in his stride to stroke the fastest goal. Scoring it in 6.2 seconds, he broke the record after 19 long years. This goal and win keeps AC Milan a point clear of their rivals Inter Milan, who beat Spezia 2-1.
Rafael Leo’s early strike will adorn the record books and that post-goal excitement level was something!
Next, AC Milan will go heads up against Lazio on 24 December in Serie A.
