It’s Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday and the internet got flooded with warm wishes from across the nation. Senior Bachchan’s fans have started wishing him from a day before but the first person to wish Big B was his daughter Shweta Bachchan.
Shweta took to her official Instagram handle sharing a picture with her dad, writing, “When you get to the top of the mountain, keep climbing- Happy Birthday Papa I love you endlessly ♥️”.
Apart from Amitabh’s family member, Red Chillies Entertainments also sent their greetings to Senior Bachchan writing, “To a name which defined an era and continues to rule hearts with his work! Happy Birthday, @SrBachchan!”

1. Anand:
The first blockbuster movie of Amitabh Bachchan in supporting role, ‘Anand’ movie brought the famous Babu Moshai of Bollywood. A story about a cancer patient Anand played by Rajesh Khanna, who has a very cheerful demeanour despite knowing his fate. The grave role of Amitabh as an oncologist was very much appreciated by the audience for which he also won ‘Best Supporting Actor’ Filmfare award.
2. Coolie:
The 1983 movie ‘Coolie’ not only became famous for its plot but for the accident that Amitabh met while shooting a fight sequel. The ‘All Time Earner’ movie is the highest-grossing movie of the 1980s showcasing the story of a railway coolie, who was separated from his mother in childhood. Amitabh Bachchan in the role of Iqbal Aslam Khan won the audience because of his brilliant performance.
3. Agneepath:
Early 1990s movie, Agneepath is about the journey of a man, who is on a path to avenge his father’s death by killing his murderer. The movie is full of bloodshed with some really good action sequel and the famous dialogue “Vijay Deenanath Chauhan poora naam, baap ka naam Deenanath Chauhan”, which still gives us goosebumps. Big B also received National Awards for his outstanding performance as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan.
4. Paa:
A story about a 12-year-old kid suffering from a rare genetic disorder, Progeria, brought a star cast of Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan and Senior Bachchan. Big B played the role of Auro, son of Abhishek and Vidya, who tries to reunite his parents while enjoying his limited life. For his role, Big B received ‘Best Actor’ National awards as well as Filmfare awards.
5. Piku:
Shoojit Sircar directorial ‘Piku’ revolves around the father-daughter duo living in New Delhi. A light comedy movie is about a Bengali family where Amitabh as Bhashkor Banerjee suffers from chronic constipation and somehow relates all his issues to his bowel problem. The movie showcases the daily story of a common family where Deepika Padukone, as a daughter of Amitabh, is the sole caretaker of her old father.
