FA Cup Champions, Arsenal has signed Iceland goalkeeper Alex Runarsson from Dijon on a four year deal for 1.3 million dollars.
The 25-year-old joined the French club, Dijon in July 2018 and made 13 appearances for them in all competitions last season. Alex Runarsson started his career with Icelandic club KR Reykjavik and went on to join FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark before moving to Dijon.
Arsenal’s head coach Mikel Arteta welcomed Alex Runarsson on board and hopes that he will bring further depth to the goalkeeping position. Showing strong attributes as a player, he’ll wear the number 13 shirt and has entered the Premier League club as a back-up for Bernd Leno. For this position, the goalkeeper replaced Emiliano Martinez after the Argentine keeper joined Aston Villa last week.
