The Premier League has started and this new season has brought in many debuts in clubs. Chelsea and Brighton went against each other with the Blues winning 3-1 at the American Express Community Stadium, East Sussex in England.
Starting the campaign with their victory against Brighton, Chelsea collected three points and added attacking talent to the squad. Two debuts from the Blues, striker Timo Werner and attacking midfielder Kai Havertz. Werner won a penalty when he was hauled down by Brighton’s keeper resulting in Jorginho scoring the first goal for the Blues with a spot kick.
For Brighton, their left winger Leandro Trossard’s 20-yard kick helped them get the one and only goal at the 54 minute. But Chelsea saw two more amazing goals, full-back Reece James 25-yard right-foot shot and centre-back Kourt Zouma’s goal which came ten minutes later.
Monday’s win for Chelsea has made them the third club in Premier League history to reach a combined tally of 2000 points, besides Manchester United and Arsenal. Coincidentally, this is also the Blues’ 400 Premier League win, boosting their confidence as they move forward to face Liverpool on 20 September!
