The world is falling apart amidst the coronavirus pandemic and technological advancements are constantly taking place to alert and help people. Apple has taken the same route and brought new updates to the iOS 13.5 version with specific features that’ll help to fight COVID-19.
Apple has simplified the unlock process of FaceID when the user is wearing a face mask. One just needs to swipe up from the bottom of the lock screen after the passcode field automatically appears. This update also works when authenticating with the App Store, Apple Books, Apple Pay, iTunes and other apps that support signing in with Face ID.
Introducing the Exposure Notification API, this is the best update by Apple as it supports COVID-19 contact tracing apps from public health authorities. Apart from that, it has the option to control automatic prominence and not change size when a participant speaks on Group FaceTime calls.
Not only this, Apple will also be providing emergency services. This option automatically lets you share health and other essential information from your Medical ID where you place an emergency call.
