The second last Formula One race of the season, Sakhir Grand Prix, concluded with unexpected results. With Lewis Hamilton not participating in the race after being tested COVID-19 positive and Romain Grosjean flying back to his homeland surviving a major accident, George Russell and Pietro Fittipaldi were seen representing the team Mercedes and Haas on the racing circuit.
While the drivers performed exceptionally well and the Fastest Lap award was bagged by George Russell, Racing Point’s Mexican driver Sergio Perez aka Checo stole the show with his technique, winning his maiden Formula One race.

Moreover, Indian driver Jehan Daruvala created history becoming the first Indian to win a Formula 2 race at Sakhir Grand Prix. The 22-year-old racer began his go-karting at the age of 13 and was signed by Carlin in 2016 for European Formula 3 race.
