England has appointed Jacques Kallis as a batting consultant ahead of their tour to Sri Lanka for two ICC World Test Championship clashes. Named in the ICC Hall of Fame in 2020, he is a prolific South African Test batsman who turned South Africa’s batting coach during the 2019-20 season. England’s tour to Sri Lanka starts from 14 January till 26 January.

Meanwhile, ICC has revealed the four step ladder to the 16 teams who will compete in the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup of 2022, hosted by Australia in the month of November. The top 11 sides have automatically qualified while 92 other ICC teams will compete for the last remaining spots. The qualifiers will be held in Finland and Japan for the first time where Hungary, Romania and Serbia will make their debut at the ICC event, starting April 2021.

Finally, New Zealand has announced their 13 man squad for their ICC World Test Championship series against Pakistan which kicks off from 26 December. The Black Caps will be led by skipper Kane Williamson, who is set to return from his paternity leave. The team also includes Tom Blundell, Trent Boult, Kyle Jamieson, Tom Latham, Daryl Mitchell, Henry Nicholls, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor, Neil Wagner, Will Young and BJ Watling as the wicketkeeper.
