On the 75 anniversary of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi released a commemorative coin of Rs 75 denomination to mark the long-standing relation of India with FAO.
Along with it, PM Modi also released 17 recently developed biofortified varieties of 8 crops to the nation and spoke about the Minimum Support Price (MSP) that has been under talk since the new agricultural bills were passed by the cabinet.

Addressing the nation on this special day via digital telecast, PM Modi said, “MSP and government procurement are an important part of the country’s food security. It is important that it continues to function with better facilities and in a scientific way. We are committed towards this” and emphasized on how the government is ensuring the development of Mandis across the nation to extend the MSP.
PM also showed his gratitude to the entire agriculture sector that is helping the nation in combating malnutrition even during the COVID times.
